Updated website and logo!

So I've been trying to work more on branding and to get a portfolio done soon after finishing 2 large paintings for someone.  I was looking for something a bit more hand-drawn, freeform and loose.  But one of my favorite artists posted an inspirational  bit about why it's important to create personal projects, I suggest you read it! Muddy Colors: Personal Work written by Corey Godbey

Plus I finally saw A Year with Frog and Toad and got a bunch of goodies (aka Marketing stuff with my artwork on it) and I have ... only a few pics. I need to get better at that.

AND
Skip to 2:40 to see my illustration for The Chicago Children's Theatre on TV!

So here's bunch of pictures....

Here we go... an image dump  of my Summer! It's been a crazy one (lots of ups and downs).... but now I'm getting back on track! A list of things that happened... lots of working, more work with The Chicago Childrens Theatre (I didn't get any sleep for like a month, but it was worth it)... we had a death in the family ... I went camping and got a horrible sunburn but we found lots of cool stuff and went tubing down a river... started doing these Paint The Town Tours with Unicoi Art Studio (Painting on canvas at local bars) ... I moved out for the first time into a house ... and lots of other things happened ... I didn't have a lot of time to get things done or to paint, or post, but I really want to get back onto that and start doing more Freelance work.  (Sorry for the dump...)

I'm not dead! {Just very busy}

So this is going to be quick (on my way to work) .. but I've neglected this blog for a long time, this summer has been insane, full of freelance work in addtion to 2 jobs, not sleeping at all for like a month, a loss in the family, other family stuff, and then moving out in a few days!  I'm really excited to be getting a better work space and hopefully finding time to post everything I've been doing! We'll see about that... but I wanted to let you know I'm not dead!!!!! But check out the Chicago Children's Theatre website to see what I've been up to!

Whales, Elephants, and shameless (well not really) promotion

Some long awaited updates...

I was working at the art studio one day when someone from the Chicago Children's Theatre (I couldn't get their name, I was in the middle of a class) dropped off a poster and flyers with my work for the performances of the  Elephant and the Whale! I'll be ushering 2 Saturday performances in the upcoming month.

And... I've got some work in a nice glass case at the Vogt Visual Art Center in Tinley Park, and all my stuff is for sale! If you don't want to travel to Tinley Park and be mobbed by small-town gradeschool cheerleaders, you can buy something off my etsy or society 6.

.. Gosh

I've been neglecting this blog, sorry!  I'm just going to post this picture of what happened yesterday!  I was driving behind a bus and I noticed the ad on the back looked familiar.  It was the artwork I did for The Chicago Children's Theatre's upcoming production of The Whale and The Elephant! Go see it!

John in Transition .... VOTE PLEASE

Gonna be a bit more annoying with this request, but here it goes......

Got a few minutes to spare? Vote for Bryan Cosgriff 's (my boyfriend's) short documentary, "John in Transition" at http://patients.aan.com/go/about/neurofilmfestival , and see the film on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hG7eClczC8 . It takes only a moment to register and vote, and 5 minutes to watch the film, don't be lazy! If he wins fan favorite, that would be awesome!!! So please help!

Chicago Children's Theatre's Bud Not Buddy

After my design internship with Chicago Children's Theatre (which was amazing) I got the opportunity to create artwork for their 2012/2013 Season that included Bud Not Buddy, Harold and the Purple Crayon, and The Whale and the Elephant.  Harold and the Purple Crayon has already played, and unfortunately I didn't get many photos other than the kid's edition of Time Out Chicago.

I was able to make it to Opening Night of Bud Not Buddy and met the author, Christopher Paul Curtis! The play was adorable and the scenery was unique and spacious.  I was really happy to see my artwork all over including a flag outside the Ruth Page Center! That's when I learned ipods take the worst photos at night.  But the ad showed up in the Tribune Papers and that was pretty neat.  Check out my facebook for more photos! And don't forget, if you're interested in seeing Bud Not Buddy check out the Chicago Children's Theatre's website.

Mountain Man - Sketchbook Project

So this here is what I've been up to lately, finishing my submission for the Sketchbook Project.
I forgot about it for a good year, and figured I had a week left to do it, so it isn't exactly up to my standards, and it feels more like a rough draft, but hopefully I'll go back to this story once I find some time.  I keep making goals for myself and then finding a lack of time to finish them.

Anyways, I've been having a lack of new activity (follower-wise) and I understand that's probably due to me ignoring them for a while, but these are all the social networks I'm at, please follow and share the appreciation! *Thanks* (Smiles awkwardly in self-pity)
